WHERE WILL YOU LIVE?
Explore Habitat’s dwellings, each with a unique energy, with names inspired by the chakras of the human body. They are intimate, comfortable, special, and as beautiful inside as the scenery is outside. Discover each one in detail.
From the base to the crown
ENERGY TRAIL
A short walk that starts from The Crown / La Corona, at the top of the Habitat site, and takes you on both a real and symbolic journey into the world beyond.
#7 The Crown / La Corona
TRANSPARENCY EVERYWHERE
The panoramic windows that frame the perfect view. The fresh lakeside and forest air that fills your lungs. The water in the private hot tubs outside each dwelling. The lake with its thousands of years of history. Transparency is everywhere, offering unbroken beauty, care and protection. And all the services Habitat Lake Maggiore’s guests require.
All the services we offer, from our warm welcome to our fond farewell: meals, cleaning, Wi-Fi and eco-friendly laundry. Plus extra services on demand. And our replies to the questions we’re often asked, which perhaps you were wondering too.
THE THINGS YOU WANT. AND THE THINGS YOU WANT TO KNOW
-
Yes. Despite Habitat’s wild surroundings, it is easy to reach by public transport (2 hours 30 mins from Zurich central station or 2 hours 50 mins from Milan Malpensa airport). The bus stop (Piazzogna Paese) is just a 3-minute walk from Habitat. For further information, visit www.ffs.ch

There’s a little bit of walking involved, but nothing too challenging, and in any case every step you take is an excellent excuse to admire the landscape! It’s about 100 m from the car park to the most distant dwelling (gaining 25 m in altitude), with a few steps along the way. There are no lifts or other devices to help you up, so it is worth being prepared for a small climb in natural surroundings!
-
No, we don’t currently offer a luggage transport service. But we are always happy to give you a hand if you need help when you arrive.
-
Yes. We have reserved parking for our guests, meaning you can travel around by car stress-free. Each dwelling has a dedicated parking space.

Yes, there are some excellent restaurants in Gambarogno with a lake view, some of which can be reached on foot. The village of Piazzogna, 150 m from Habitat, has a shop open six days a week selling local products and everyday essentials. There are also several supermarkets and various shopping opportunities in the wider area.
-
Yes, we have a dedicated, SIA 500-compliant room – our first one, #0 The Base / La Base – designed and equipped to be suitable for everyone, including those with reduced mobility, and accessible directly from the car park. However, in general, the hills and paths can make getting around the Habitat site and the wider area in a wheelchair difficult. Let us know in advance if you have any specific needs, so we can ensure your stay goes smoothly.
-
Yes. Habitat has two charging stations solely for guests’ electric vehicles. We’re as committed to protecting the environment as you are.
-
Absolutely – you’re welcome to bring your four-legged friends. Some of our dwellings are also equipped to house pets. Let us know in advance if you are bringing a cat or dog, so we can provide you with the most suitable accommodation.

Yes. We provide a bespoke breakfast service: every day you can choose the breakfast you would like to eat the following day, at a cost of 25 CHF per person, and start every morning full of energy with a selection of fresh, local products.
-
No, all bedding and towels are supplied by Habitat.
-
Habitat is flexible. The dwellings have been designed with two adults in mind, but the two armchair beds in the living space can be used by two children. Let us know if you have children when you book, so we can provide you with everything they need.
